The 152 Club Bar & Grill has a rich history dating back to 1881 when the Minneapolis and Northwestern Railroad Company started laying a stretch of tracks throughout downtown Albertville. They also built a boarding house for their workers, which would eventually be known as the 152 Club Bar & Grill.
As the town developed, the building was bought out by the Minneapolis Brewing Company and Schlitz Brewing Company. Prohibition soon started and the brewery was only allowed to brew near-beer.
After the end of prohibition, the brewery was purchased and transformed into a bar. Around that same time, MN State Hwy 152 was authorized for construction and was meant to connect St. Cloud & Minneapolis. It ran right outside of the boarding house - turned brewery - turned bar.
Most of Hwy 152 was replaced by I94 in the late 1970's, but not before the 152 Club was born.
Over the past 70 years, the 152 Club has changed possession a handful of times but each time the owners proudly keep the name 152 Club.
Today, we unite the friendly small town atmosphere from our past with the excitement and growth of today. We are the ultimate dive bar, beach volleyball oasis, cornhole enthusiasts and a local karaoke hot spot.
Come share our deeply rooted passion for good times, great food and strong drinks. If you get lost, follow old Hwy 152 - it's the road to fun!
